Team Flexachem travelled to Cork on Sunday afternoon for the second of their double header weekend games where they played Team Energywise Neptune.
The 1st Quarter saw opening scores by Neptune's Darragh O Sullivan and American Jamal Wright being match with scores from Killorglin's Clay Ladine and Beni Fungala and by the
End of the Quarter Killorglin held a four point lead at 15 to 19.
The 2nd Quarter saw the home side claw back the deficit and by half time the sides were level at 37 apiece.
Neptune got off to the better start in the 3rd and by 4 minutes in had built up an 8 point lead at 49 to 41,but late scores by Okeke and Ladine cut the gap to 3 by Quarters end on a
Scoreline of 57 to 54.
Team Flexachem hit seven 3 pointers in the 4th Quarter, 3 by team captain Liam Croke, 3 by Clay Ladine and 1 by Eche Okeke. Neptune captain Roy Downey also hit 3 pointers and along with inside scores by Nils Sabata saw the game tied at 74 all going into the final minute.
With 35 seconds to go, Killorglin's Fungala made a great defensive check and with the resulting play Ladine hit a big 3, on 29 seconds, which proved to be the final score of the game and saw Team Flexachem win by 3 on a scoreline of 76 to 79.
Scorers for Killorglin were Clay Ladine on 20,Eche Okeke 18,Beni Fungala 14,Liam Croke 9 and Jordan Blount 9.
Team Flexachem have now played 9 games, won five and sit in 5th place on the Superleague table. Next weekend is a free one for Killorglin, with their next game against UCC Demons on
the 29th of November, tipping off at 8p.m. in the Mardyke Arena.
