Two Irish in top five in Florida's Rolex Grand Prix

Derry's Jordan Coyle finished best of the Irish in last night's five-star $750,000 Rolex Grand Prix at Wellington International in Florida, which brings 12 weeks of top class action at the American venue to a close this weekend.

Eight combinations made it through to the jump-off and hopes of an Irish victory were high with three Irish riders making it through to the second round. A clear jump-off round in 40.44 seconds would see Coyle and Chaccolino finish fourth, one place ahead of Wexford's Bertram Allen and Qonquest De Rigo in fifth with a fence down in the second round.

Daniel Coyle and his Paris Olympic Games mount Legacy also made it through to the jump-off but would pick up 12 faults for an eighth place finish. Offaly's Darragh Kenny narrowly missed out on a place in the decider after picking up just a single time fault in the opening round aboard Eddy Blue to finish ninth.

Victory for the second year in-a-row went to Germany's Christian Kukuk and Checker 47 with a clear in 39.20.
