Two former Champions League winners turn down invitations to join European Super League

Two former Champions League winners have announced they turned down invitations to join the European Super League.

2004 winners Porto and 1997 winners Borussia Dortmund have confirmed they will not be joining the 12 clubs from the Premier League, La Liga and Serie A in the breakaway competition.

Dortmund CEO Hans Joachim Watzke says his club and Bayern Munich have rejected plans for the establishment of a Super League.

Porto president Pinto da Costa says it goes it against the rules and principles of the European Union and UEFA.

UEFA's threatened to block any participants from continuing to play in their domestic leagues.

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl  is very concerned
