Tralee Pitch and Putt Club statement:
TRALEE Pitch and Putt Club has announced details of an exciting FREE Open Day from 3pm to 8pm on Friday 27th June aimed at introducing juveniles and families to the game of Pitch and Putt.
The supervised event will offer attendees a FREE round of pitch and putt, group coaching sessions with some of the top players in the club and a 10% discount off family membership (Ts&Cs apply).
Don’t worry if you don’t have clubs because they will be provided as necessary on the day and everyone who attends will receive a generous €10 voucher towards the cost of new pitch and putt clubs from Hennebery’s Sports Tralee.
The Chair of Tralee Pitch and Putt Club, Pa Curran, said, “This initiative will offer an opportunity for youngsters to explore a new sport within walking distance of their home and to connect with new friends all year round, especially during the summer holidays. Pitch and Putt provides an opportunity for people of all ages to escape from their phones and devices for a couple of hours while enjoying some light exercise in the open air.”
Tralee Pitch and Putt Club is one of the most accessible and picturesque courses in the country with the greens and tees maintained at the highest standard.
Club PRO, Tom “Tommo” O’Brien, said, “The committee has identified a need to attract more players to enjoy the facilities while benefitting from the exercise, fresh air and a sense of belonging to a club. I hadn’t picked up a golf club for years until after my late wife Marie passed away in 2022. That’s when I discovered Tralee Pitch and Putt Club. It was like joining another family and it has ultimately helped me through the grieving process while learning something new and fun. It doesn’t matter if you have not played pitch and putt before because as bad as you might think you are, you can only get better.
“Tralee Pitch and Putt Club will be celebrating 60 years at the end of 2025. It’s fitting therefore to have the support of Hennebery’s Sports Centre, Ashe Street, Tralee who have been at the heart of all sporting activities in Kerry for 60 years.”
