Tralee Parnells Hurling and Camogie notes

Junior Camogie

Our Junior Camogie ladies did us proud in the Aspen Grove Championship final on Friday night in Abbeydorney.  Facing a strong and experienced Cillard side, it was always going to be a challenging task but our players rose to the occasion with heart and determination.

The ladies got off to a great start, keeping Cillard within reach throughout the first half. However, in the early stages of the second half, Cillard began to find their rhythm, showing the class and composure that comes from years of experience. Despite our best efforts, the gap proved just too much to close.
Credit must go to our young side, who never gave up and fought until the final whistle. In their very first junior season, to reach a county final is a remarkable achievement and one that they can be incredibly proud of.  Congratulations to Cillard on a well-deserved victory.

Sincere thank you to Abbeydorney GAA for the use of their excellent facilities, to County Board officers Siobhán and Ann for organising a great final and to referee Mike Hennessy and sponsors Aspen Grove for their support.

A heartfelt thank you as well to the fantastic Parnells supporters who turned out in force on the night their presence and encouragement meant a lot to the team.  This is only the beginning for this talented group. With more experience and time together they will continue to improve.
The lessons from this final will serve them well as they represent Kerry in the Munster Mai O’Connell Competition next month.
