Tipp Dominate All Star Hurling Team

All-Ireland champions Tipperary lead the way with seven players on this year’s PwC hurling All-Star team.

Liam McCarthy Cup-winning captain Ronan Maher has been selected at centre-half-back, with Rhys Shelly picked in goal and Eoghan Connolly and Young Hurler of the Year contender Robert Doyle in defence.

The Premier’s other players to make the team are forwards Jake Morris, Andrew Ormond, and John McGrath.
Munster and League champions Cork have four players in the team - defenders Sean O’Donoghue and Ciaran Joyce are joined by midfielder Darragh Fitzgibbon and forward Brian Hayes.

Kilkenny’s Mossy Keoghan follows in the footsteps of his father, Liam, by becoming an All-Star, while the Cats’ full-back Huw Lawlor will collect his third award tomorrow night.

Galway’s Cathal Mannion has been picked in midfield with Dublin’s Cian O’Sullivan selected in the half-forward line.

Jake Morris, Brian Hayes, and John McGrath are in contention to be named Hurler of the Year at the gala event at the RDS tomorrow night, where this season’s football All-Stars will also be revealed.

The football winners will also be announced tomorrow as well Footballer of the Year which Austin Stack's Joe O Connor and Fossa's David Clifford are both nominated for along with Donegal's Michael Murphy.
