The Dalata under-20 Football Championships took centre-stage last night.
In Ulster, Derry joined Donegal in claiming the two automatic semi-final spots as they defeated Cavan by 10 points at Breffni Park.
Tyrone will face Armagh in the quarters as the Red Hand defeated Antrim convincingly whilst the Orchard County came through against Monaghan by 5 points.
In Leinster, Dublin allayed any fears of elimination thanks to a win over Westmeath to secure a quarter-final clash with Wicklow, who themselves defeated Longford by two points.
Holders Meath will take on Wexford next week, despite the a much-changed Royals side losing by a point to Offaly.
Wexford suffered a 12-point defeat to Kildare who guaranteed their semi final place.
And in Connacht a late two-pointer from Colm Costello rescued a draw for the Galway at home to Roscommon but is unlikely to prevent their exit from the championship.
Elsewhere, Sligo withstood a brave late rally from Leitrim to win by 4 to guarantee themselves at worst a semi-final, with a chance at reaching the final automatically against Mayo next week.
