Three-time Olympian Shane Ryan has announced his retirement from competitive swimming.
The Pennsylvania native moved to Ireland in 2014, and claimed five medals in the 50-metre backstroke in a career spanning over a decade.
He became the first Irish swimmer to compete at three Olympics at last summer's Games in Paris.
