MEK Galaxy 4 Inter Kenmare 3
MEK left it late, very late, as James O’Meara’s injury-time winner helped secure the home side’s first win of the season.
It was nip and tuck for much of the opening half but it was Kenmare who went into the break 2-1 up. MEK’s opener was also thanks to James O’Meara after the Kenmare keeper over-committed to leave a tap-in for the striker.
Kenmare netted a third five minutes into the second-half before Harry Murphy put David O’Shea through to make it 3-2 on the hour mark.
MEK stepped up the attacks and the equaliser eventually came in the 85th minute, Mikey Griffin breaking through tackles and staying on his feet to finish sublimely.
Then, in one of the last attacks of the game, James O’Meara took advantage of a rebound to hit the winner.
