St. Mark’s Basilica retired

Five-time Group 1 winner St. Mark’s Basilica has been retired to stud.

The three-year old won the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown earlier this month.

But trainer Aidan O’Brien said St. Mark’s Basilica suffered an injury prior to Leopardstown, and the decision has been taken to retire him.
