Southern Gaels were defeated in the AIB Ladies Munster Senior Club Football Championship final.
In Mallow they lost to Waterford's Comeragh Rangers, who prevailed by 1-12 to 0-11.
Comeragh had the first two points, before 2 Rachel Dwyer frees brought Southern Gaels made it all square by the 5 minute mark. 2 quick points had Comeragh ahead by 2 once more. After quarter of an hour Southern Gaels were behind by double scores at 6 points to 3.
Comeragh goaled in the 24th minute to extend their advantage to 1-7 to 0-3. Southern Gaels were behind at the break by 1-9 to 0-3.
The Kerry champions were superb from the second half get go; scoring 6 points without reply to make it 1-9 to 0-9 after 42 minutes. Those points came from Jess Gill, Mayers Lyons, Rachel Dwyer, Anna Galvin and Gill twice more.

Comargh's first point of the second half, with 5 minutes to go, put them 4 in front. Rachel Dwyer brought that deficit down to 3 a minute later. In the 58th minute Jess Gill made it a 2 point game; 1-10 to 0-11. Comeragh responded with back to back points to double their lead in added on time, to 1-12 to 0-11. That's how it finished.
