Rangers have made an official approach to speak to QPR boss Michael Beale about their managerial vacancy.
The Scottish Premiership club are keen to bring in their former coach after Giovanni van Bronckhorst was sacked on Monday.
Rangers are nine points off current leaders and Old Firm rivals Celtic after 15 games.
