Conor Purcell looks set to make the cut at the DP World Tour's Volvo China Open.

The Portmarnock golfer carded a second round of 70 this morning - and is now level par overall.

That's two shots inside the projected cut mark.

Haotong Li is the leader on ten-under-par.

Leona Maguire is in a tie for 24th after the opening round of the LA Championship on the LPGA Tour.

The Cavan woman carded an opening round of four-under-par 68.

Ashleigh Buhai and Yan Liu lead the way on nine-under-par.

Shane Lowry is three-under-par heading into his second round at the RBC Heritage in South Carolina.

The Offaly native carded a opening-round 68 yesterday and sits in a tie for twentieth.

Justin Thomas leads the way on 10-under.
