President Leads Tributes To Alan McLoughlin

President Michael D Higgins and former team-mates have paid tribute to ex Republic of Ireland international Alan McLoughlin, who has died at the age of 54.

McLoughlin made 42 appearances for the national team, with his goal in Belfast in 1993 qualifying the Boys in Green for the World Cup in the United States.

The midfielder played at club level for Swindon, Southampton and Portsmouth.

Meanwhile,

An Taoiseach Micheal Martin has said the return of fans at outdoor sporting venues could be trialled in July.

He's also said a professional boxing fight taking place in this country is unlikely in the near future due to security concerns.
