Liverpool edged closer to Champions League qualification - but were booed off at Anfield after a 1-all draw with Chelsea in the Premier League.

Fellow European contenders Bournemouth were 1-nil winners at Fulham, where both sides had a player sent-off.

Brighton also boosted their hopes of continental football with a 3-nil victory over relegated Wolves.

Manchester United, who've already secured a Champions League spot, drew nil-nil at Sunderland.

Manchester City will move within two points of leaders Arsenal if they beat Brentford this evening.

Middlesbrough and Southampton have drawn nil-nil in the first leg of their Championship play-off semi-final at the Riverside.

It leaves the tie all-square heading into Tuesday's deciding game on the south coast.

There was also a goalless draw between Hull and Millwall in the opening match of their semi last night.

They meet again on Monday.

Dundee have secured their Scottish Premiership safety with a 3-nil win against relegated Livingston.

St Mirren look to be heading for a relegation play-off after losing by the same score to fellow strugglers Kilmarnock.

Aberdeen beat Dundee United 2-nil, while in the top half, Hibs claimed a 3-1 victory away to Falkirk.

Hearts look to take another big step towards the title with a win at Motherwell this evening.
