He was quickest around Spa this afternoon to boost his chances in the F2 title race, where the McLaren junior is currently third.
Championship leader Richard Verschoor finished in 11st place in qualifying.

The championship leader came in ahead of Red Bull's Max Verstappen in qualifying, with his McLaren team-mate Lando Norris in third.
Oliver Bearman will go from seventh for Haas, with Mercedes' George Russell back in 13th and Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton 18th.
