PFA call for temporary subs for head injuries in football

The Professional Footballers Association has called for the introduction of temporary substitutions for head injuries in football.

It follows an incident after which Leeds' Robin Koch played on despite receiving a knock to the head in yesterday's match against Manchester United.

The PFA says a temporary substitution should be allowed to evaluate a player's condition after a head injury.

At present, extra permanent substitutions are permitted in such cases.
