Peterborough midfielder called into Republic of Ireland squad

Peterborough’s attacking midfielder Sam Szmodics has been called into the Republic of Ireland squad.

He qualifies through his Longford-born grandmother.

Injuries to Aaron Connolly and Callum Robinson have forced them to withdraw from the squad for the games with Andorra and Hungary.

Bournemouth goalkeeper Mark Travers is drafted in to replace the injured Darren Randolph.
