Ireland is celebrating a first gold medal at the Olympics since 2012.

Skibbereen rowers Paul O'Donovan and Fintan McCarthy have been crowned lightweight doubles sculls champions in Tokyo.

They finished this morning's race strongly to come in ahead of Germany.
It follows Paul and his brother Gary securing a silver medal in Rio 5 years ago.
