Geelong coach Chris Scott says Kerry’s Mark O’Connor could be the best prepared player in Australian Rules.
Scott praised O’Connor’s conditioning following his Club All-Ireland winning run with Dingle.
O’Connor is entering his tenth season with the Geelong Cats and is just three games away from reaching 150 AFL appearances.
Kerry’s Cillian Burke is likely to feature for Geelong’s VFL side this weekend, while Rob Monahan is expected to line out for Carlton’s VFL team.
Meanwhile Austin Stacks footballer Ben Murphy will miss the start of the AFL season through injury.
The 19-year-old Kerry player, who signed with the Brisbane Lions last November, has been ruled out with a chest injury ahead of their opening game against the Western Bulldogs.
