FAI CEO David Courell has confirmed that Northern Ireland will not be eligible to qualify as a host nation for Euro 2028, as they are not hosting any games.
The UK government announced in September that it would not fund the redevelopment of Belfast's Casement Park over fears it would not be ready in time for the tournament.
Courell suggested this could boost the Republic of Ireland's chances of qualifying
