North Kerry victory for Listowel

Listowel took the honours in the replay of the North Kerry Senior Football Championship final, sponsored by McMunns Bar and restaurant Ballybunion.

In Ballylongford they overcame Knocknagoshel 2-18 to 2-7.

Emmets started stronger, Aaron Kennelly netting and Darragh Lynch pointing. That gave them a 4 point advantage inside 4 minutes. Knocknagoshel hit back with 3 unanswered points and trailed 1-1 to 0-3 after 16 minutes. 2 points in the following 3 minutes had Listowel 3 clear. A brace of Eddie Healy points extended the Listowel lead to 1-5 to 0-3 with 24 minutes on the clock. A Sam Tarrant two pointer in the final minute meant Listowel led by double scores at 1-7 to 0-5. At half time it was 1-8 to 0-6 in favour of Listowel.

Those strikes made it 1-11 to 2-6 after 51 minutes. However, Listowel responded in the best way possible, a Pa Walsh goal a minute later increasing their advantage to 5. It was now 2-11 to 2-6 entering the closing 8 minutes. Listowel stayed on top, registering 5 unanswered points to move out of sight. They won by 11.
