Waterford have withstood a second-half comeback from Galway to book their place in the quarter-finals of the All-Ireland Hurling Championship.

Last year's beaten finalists have won by 1-30 to 3-20 - having hurled the entire second-half with 14 men.

Conor Gleeson was shown a straight red-card just after the interval.

Laois host Westmeath in the Division One League Relegation Playoff at half-seven in Portlaoise.
