SOCCER

Arsenal extended their record of FA Cup Final wins to 14 yesterday evening.

They had to come from behind to get a 2-1 victory over 10-man Chelsea at Wembley Stadium.

Eddie Howe left his role as Bournemouth manager by mutual consent last evening.

His departure followed the club's relegation after five years in the Premier League.

Howe was in charge of more than 450 games during two spells at Bournemouth, where he also played more than 300 times as player.

The resumed SSE Airtricity League continues this evening.

In the Premier Divison, bottom side Cork City host Bohemians from 5-o'clock at Turners Cross.

Shane Lowry will tee off best of the Irish on the final day of the St. Jude Invitational in Memphis.

The Offaly native shot a 3-under-par round of 67 yesterday which leaves him 6-under all round.

Graeme McDowell meanwhile carded a level-par round of 70 to leave him on 2-under.

And four bogeys saw Rory McIlroy shoot a disappointing 3-over-par round of 73 to leave him 2-over for the tournament.

RACING

The final day of the 2020 Galway Races Summmer Festival takes place today.

The feature race of the day, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF 'Ahonoora' Handicap, goes to post at 20-past-4 while the first of seven races gets underway at a-quarter-to-3.

There's also seven races at Cork from 2-o'clock.


SNOOKER

Round One action continues at the World Snooker Championship at the Crucible in Sheffield today.

Five-time World Champion Ronnie O'Sullivan plays this afternoon.

The Rocket faces Thepchaiya Un-Nooh from half-past-2.

Before that at 10 o'clock this morning Neil Robertson takes on Wenbo Liang while at the same time Bingtao Yan is up against Elliot Slesso
