Ballincollig replied with three's from Josh Steel and Lattrell Jossell, a high scoring opening quarter followed with Killorglin shading it on a score of 26 to 25. Another high scoring second period saw Ballincollig notch up six three pointers including three of those from Keelin Cairns. Garvey's Tralee Warriors U20s were beaten at Neptune on Saturday evening as Alan Cantwell reports.
Garvey's Tralee Warriors Mens U20s suffered their first defeat of their League campaign going down by 96-73.

An understrength Warriors side without the services of amongst others Ryan Sheehy and David Lucid started brightly and led midway through the first with Jamie Burke, Samson Abubakar, Seán Cantwell and Liam O’Rahilly all on the mark to put the visitors 17-12 up but Neptune went on run in reply with 22 unanswered points from scores from Pharell Osagie, Wesley Delany, Dylan O’Rourke and Akitoye Coker and only a late Cantwell basket stopped the Neptune run with the hosts 36-19 up at quarter time.
The Warriors shaded the second quarter in a much more competitive spell but Neptune did make the better start with Coker, Ben O’Connell and Luke Walsh on the mark to push the lead out to 23. However Warriors replied in kind with scores from Burke and Abubakar from inside and when both Cantwell and Rahilly landed from distance the half time gap was down to 51-39.
Neptune began to get the upper hand in the game early in the third with baskets from Noah Vaicekonis, O’Connell, Osagie and Welsey Delany’s third of his ten threes in the game putting daylight between the teams. However Kiefer Yiadom hit a quickfire five points quickly followed by Conor Galvin and a double from Jamie Burke to cut the advantage to 13. Delany then chose his moment to land an impressive four dagger three pointers in a row to blow out the score to 78-56 at the end of the third.
Two scores each from Delany and Coker edged Neptune further ahead but at the other end Abubakar, Galvin and Rahilly were still scoring and keeping the home side honest. Delany struck twice from distance to round out a great display of shooting while Warriors finished with a quick run of the last five scores of the game shared between Yiadom and Burke to leave the final score reading 96-73.
Scorers:
Neptune: Wesley Delany 36, Akitoye Coker 19, Pharrell Osagie 12
Garvey's Tralee Warriors: Jamie Burke 18, Laim Rahilly 16, Kiefer Yiadom 13, Seán Cantwell and Samson Abubakar 11
Next up for the Warriors is a local derby clash with keen rivals St. Mary’s Castleisland on Saturday next at 3.00pm in Moyderwell Gym in Tralee.

Robert Braswell looked back to full fitness after missing a few weeks due to injury as he dropped 24 points on a very efficient 8-10 shooting, flanked by a 23-point game for Josh Wilson and 18 from Paul Dick. For Star, Irish international Rapolas Buivydas led the way with 20 points in 24 minutes, but did not feature in the final quarter. Killester now enter the top five with a 6-4 record and stay level with UCD Marian.
Ballincollig had a 93-76 road victory over Flexachem KCYMS in Killorglin. Ballincollig's big three of Latrell Jossell, Latavious Mitchell and Josh Steel all continued their string of good performances, with Mitchell notably scoring 19 points on a highly efficient 8-13 shooting performance. Jeffery Okeke had a 35-point game for Killorglin as he tried to keep the Kerry side in the game with five threes from him. The loss for Declan Wall's men sees them fall to 4-6.

Adon Gregorio stole the show for Neptune with a season-high 30 points. Neptune's offence lit up in the second half with a 37-point third quarter, giving them a 21-point lead heading into the fourth, which Tralee couldn't fight back from. The win for Neptune puts them at 2-8 after their first win since the 1st of November. The loss for Tralee leaves them at an even record of 5-5, the same record as four other teams.
Griffith College Éanna had a comfortable 107-85 win over Limerick Celtics on Saturday. It was a tale of two halves, with the Celtics pushing Éanna all the way behind a strong first-half showing from new acquisition Sean Hauser. Éanna really turned the heat up a notch in the second half, with Irish international Sean Jenkins scoring 14 of his 25 points in the third and fourth quarters. The win for Éanna puts them at a strong 7-3 record, and well amongst the leading pack. For Celtics, the loss is their seventh of the season and leaves them in tenth, despite some promising performances.
St. Vincent’s fell to 5-5 for the season after a 98-76 loss to UCD Marian. Both sides went into the game with identical records, but 28 points from a debuting Bruce Saintilus on 10-20 shooting powered UCD to their sixth win of the season. Vincent’s scored the opening basket of the game through Jaylyn Richardson, but the 2-0 lead was the singular lead that they enjoyed in the game, with Marian keeping their lead from 5-2 all the way to the very end.
The new-look UCC Demons managed to pick up some momentum with two new pros, getting a win on their debuts, with a 103-88 victory over EJ Sligo All-Stars on Sunday. Killester secured their seventh win in eight Domino's Women's Super League games this season following a 107-76 triumph over McEvoy's Cavan Eagles.
Killester's pro Samantha Haiby stole the show with 40 points in 31 minutes including shooting 8-11 from three and an outstanding efficiency of 50%. Cavan took a 6-0 lead at the beginning of the game, and that was about as good as it got for Eagles as Killester edged back in front in the first quarter and did not surrender the lead for the remainder of the contest. Soleil Barnes did her best to keep Cavan in the game with 27 points, including seven of her own threes. The win puts Killester at 7-1 for the season and they remain at the summit for another weekend. For Cavan, they now fall to 3-5 in their maiden season in the league.
Gurranabraher Credit Union held on to defeat Trinity Meteors 84-81, despite a late fourth-quarter comeback from Meteors. Brunell had a 16-point lead, 72-56, as it entered the final quarter, which was followed by a 25-12 fourth quarter for Meteors, but they ultimately fell just short. Maddie Cluse and Irish international Edel Thornton combined for 45 points for Brunell, with Cluse adding 15 rebounds in the game. The win for the Cork side moves them to second with a 6-2 record, whilst the loss for Meteors sees them slip below UCC Glanmire in the table with a record of 5-3.
UCC Glanmire picked up a vital win to go level with their opponents, Utility Trust St. Paul's Killarney, in an 88-54 win. The 34-point gap at the end of the game was the Cork side's biggest lead all day. Viane Cumber scored 26 points and added 12 rebounds for Glanmire and was flanked by a further 30 from the duo of Jewel Watkins and Claire O'Sullivan. St. Paul's had two players in double digits, with Maisie Burnham getting 16 points and Lorraine Scanlon adding 12. The loss has now put Killarney below Glanmire in the Domino's Women's Super League table, with both sides on 5-3.

Brooke Kane, Destinee Bursch and Sorcha Tiernan led the way for Liffey, scoring 58 of Liffey's 82. For Portlaoise, Lynn Tunnah and Christiana Ojide Boiko had their best league games for the Laois side yet, with Tunnah scoring 26 and Boiko adding 20. Liffey are now level with McEvoy's Cavan Eagles at 3-5 in the table. However, Panthers are now on a seven-straight losing streak and sit just one place above the winless Catalyst Fr. Mathews in ninth.
Catalyst Fr. Mathews suffered an 86-69 loss to SETU Waterford Wildcats on Saturday night.
