Mona McSharry was seventh in the final of the 200-metre breaststroke at the European Swimming Championships in Rome.

The Sligo swimmer was 2-point-8 seconds off the podium places.

McSharry returns to the pool tomorrow morning for the heats of the 50-metre breaststroke.
