Mayo Top Star Forward Undergoes Procedure 10 Days Before Championship

Mayo have been dealt a major injury blow ten days ahead of their Connacht championship opener.

All Star Forward Cillian O'Connor is to undergo a procedure this week on an Achilles tendon injury.

O’Connor suffered the injury in last Sunday’s Division 2 promotion play-off against Clare in Ennis but the official statement from the county does not give a recovery timeframe.

Mayo play Sligo in the provincial quarter-finals on June the 26th.
