Mayo senior football manager Kevin McStay is to step back from his duties for "the immediate future."
McStay fell ill during a training session on Saturday and was brought to hospital where he is being monitored.
The 63-year-old will not be on the line for his team's All-Ireland round robin game against Tyrone in Omagh this Saturday.
Assistant manager Stephen Rochford will take charge of the footballers for the foreseeable future.
Mayo County chairman Seamus Tuohy confirmed that McStay intends to return to his role when he has recovered.
