Maguire makes cut; Lowry and McIlroy 6 off lead

Leona Maguire has made it to the weekend at the Chevron Championship in Texas.

The Cavan golfer carded a one-under-par round of 71 yesterday, narrowly making the cut on two-over.

A few players are still to complete their second rounds this morning, before Day Three proper gets underway later.

Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry remain six shots off the lead ahead of the third round at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

The defending champions moved up to 11-under-par yesterday and into a tie for 16th.

Isaiah Salinda and Kevin Velo lead at the halfway point, on 17-under.
