Ciara Mageean says she was left feeling empty and numb when injury ruled her out of this summer's Olympics.

The European 15-hundred metres champion was forced to withdraw on the eve of the Paris games due to an Achilles issue.

Mageean says she's using that pain and frustration as fuel ahead of the Los Angeles Olympics in four years time.
