Seven-time French champions Lyon say they'll "immediately appeal" what they call "the incomprehensible decision" to relegate them to the country's second division.
French football's financial watchdog said they'd failed to satisfy the requirements needed surrounding their accounts.
Lyon argue that they have met all demands - which was helped by owner John Textor's sale of his Crystal Palace shares.
