UEFA will allow fans to attend the European Super Cup final.

The fixture between Champions League winners Bayer Munich and Europa League victors Sevilla, will be used as a trial event for supporters back in stadiums.

The game will take place in Budapest on 24th of September.

Lionel Messi has handed in his transfer request to Barcelona.

The six time Ballon D'Or winner sent a recorded letter by burofax to the club expressing a desire to exercise a clause in his contract which would allow him to leave on a free transfer.

Barcelona believe the clause has expired and the Argentine is duty bound to stay until next year.

Maguire was found guilty yesterday of aggravated assault, resisting arrest and bribery following an incident in Greece.

He received a suspended jail sentence.

Maguire maintains his innocence and his legal team will be appealing the verdict.
