The long-term sponsorship agreement between cartell.ie and The Rally of the Lakes will continue for at least one more year following the sale of the car data firm to Independent News and Media (INM) in July.

INM’s Belgian parent company Mediahuis bought the vehicle history firm last month as a complement to its existing car sales website CarsIreland.ie. Locally, the international media firm also owns The Kerryman newspaper.

Cartell.ie, established in 2006, is the market leader in provision for after market services such as car parts and accessories, providing data and analytics to both consumers and the motor industry.

The Kildare based company has sponsored the Rally of the Lakes since 2010.

The Rally of the Lakes did not run this year as a result of pandemic related restrictions but is scheduled to run on May 1 and 2 next season. The event celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2019.
