Lowry narrowly misses out on victory at Truist Championship

Shane Lowry narrowly missed out on victory at the PGA Tour's Truist Championship last night.

The Offaly man played the final three holes in two-over-par to finish on 14-under - two shots adrift of eventual winner Sepp Straka.

Rory McIlroy finished in a tie for 7th on ten-under-par.

Lowry has broken into the top ten of the world rankings for the first time.

McIlroy remains second.

Seamus Power ended the week in a tie for 34th at the Myrtle Beach Classic.

The Waterford native was six-under-par overall after a final round of 69.

Ryan Fox claimed the title following a three-way play-off with Mackenzie Hughes and Harry Higgs.

All three players finished on 15-under-par.
