The team of Shane Lowry and Ian Poulter are five shots off the lead after the opening day at golf's Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
Lowry made seven of his team's nine birdies as they closed day one at eight-under-par with Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele leading at 13-under.
Seamus Power and Graeme McDowell are seven-under into day two.
