Lightweight rowing is set to be off the schedule for the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028.

Team Ireland has won 3 Olympic medals in the discipline, which will be replaced by a form of beach rowing.

Ireland's most successful Olympic sport - Boxing - is already off the agenda for the 2028 games unless an accommodation can be reached between the International Olympic Committee and the International Boxing Association.
