It ended a run of three straight defeats and keeps them three points clear at the top of the table.
Ipswich Town remain second thanks to a late flurry in a 3-2 win over Bristol City, while third-placed Leeds United maintained their own automatic promotion hopes by beating Stoke 1-nil.
