Kevin O'Brien has been appointed the new manager of the Westmeath hurlers.
The Clonkill native previously managed the county's under-20 side, and succeeds Seoirse Bulfin as senior coach.
Westmeath were relegated to Division 2 of the Allianz Hurling League, and needed a final-round win over Kerry to retain their Joe McDonagh Cup status.
