Conditional rider Tom Kelly partnered his first winner of the season when successful on the Shane Crawley-trained Nodoubtaboutthat in the mares’ handicap hurdle at Galway on Wednesday. In the colours of the absent Who What Why Syndicate, the Listowel man got the 12/1 chance home by two and three-parts of a length from Willie Mullins’ top-weight Dysart Diamond. Crawley commented, “The syndicate aren't here today as one of their members Michael Griffin buried his mother Mae this morning. They were happy to let the mare take her chance and told me to let her run as it would be all for luck.”
Jack Kennedy enjoyed his only winner of the week as Battleoverdoyen took the conditions’ chase on Friday evening. Trained by Denise Foster, the 7/2 chance led after the final fence and was always holding strong finisher Ben Dundee, prevailing by half a length at the line.
