John Ryan saddled two winners at Ballinrobe on Tuesday to continue his flying form and it was Bryan Cooper who completed the trainer’s brace on 7/2 chance The Little Yank. Cooper had to work for his success on the Bit View Partnership-owned six-year-old which battled well to hold the late run of 7/4 favourite Persia by half a length. Templemore trainer Ryan had earlier won the maiden hurdle with the Shane Fitzgerald-ridden 7/4 favourite The Dara Man.
Jack Kennedy rode his first winner since Samcro scored at Killarney in May when partnering the Denise Foster-trained Chesterville to win the opening maiden hurdle at Limerick on Thursday. The 7/1 chance challenged over the final hurdle and picked up best of all to race clear for a two and a quarter-length success from the Emmet Mullins-trained 5/6 favourite Shake Him Up. It was also a first success for owners Conor and Miriam Magner and Brian Sheerin. Conor Magner said, “Listowel would be our Cheltenham so hopefully we can get there at some stage.
