Bryan Cooper is no stranger to success on the biggest of stages and his winning turn at last week’s Punchestown festival arrived on Friday when he teamed up with Willie Mullins to land the two-mile five-furlong handicap chase on the Marie Donnelly-owned Asterion Forlonge.
Undoubtedly a most popular winner with punters, the classy seven-year-old was sent off at odds of 11/4 favourite and skipped clear in great style from the penultimate fence to beat the Henry de Bromhead-trained Walk Away by 14 lengths.
