Killarney’s David O’Sullivan landed his first winner as a trainer when the nine-year-old Toon Town took the two and a half-mile handicap chase at Limerick on Thursday evening. Owned by the Teergay Syndicate, the Shane O’Callaghan-ridden 11/2 chance came from off the pace to lead at the second-last fence and scored by a length and a half from 9/1 shot One Way Traffic, ridden for Oliver McKiernan by Phillip Enright.

O’Sullivan was denied a famous double as his 11/2 shot Cullenwaine lost out by three-parts of a length to the Karl Thornton-trained 17/2 chance A Year Older in the second division of the two and three-quarter-mile handicap chase.

The 11/8 favourite Mr Master Mac gave County Kildare trainer Mark Fahey his third winner of the week when taking the opening two and a quarter-mile maiden hurdle at Downpatrick. Ridden by Dingle’s Tom O’Connor, the five-year-old led at the final hurdle and stayed on up the hill to score by two and a half lengths from 100/30 chance Le Questionnaire, trained by Gordon Elliott, in the colours of the MasterMac Partnership.
