Kerry have qualified for the All-Ireland minor football final.

That was quickly taken by midfielder Cian May. He played a one two and converted for the opening goal. That had Mayo ahead by 1-1 to 0-2. It was 1-2 to 3 points after 1/4 of an hour. With the score at 1-3 to 5 points in the 22nd minute Maidhc Ó Sé netted to put Kerry in front. Mayo quickly halved the deficit. 2 minutes from the end of the half a high ball towards the Kerry square saw Mayo gather possession. A Mayo forward got into the square; He was tripped, resulting in a penalty and also a black card for Kerry keeper Ruairi Kennedy. The penalty was converted and Mayo were in front by 2-4 to 1-5. Kerry trailed 2-5 to 1-7 at the break.

It was 1-14 to 2-8 with thirteen minute to go, the Mayo equalised with a goal. The Westerners nudged ahead with 11 to go, at 3-9 to 1-14. Ben Kelliher levelled for Kerry with 4 minutes on the clock. In the first of 5 added minutes Mayo pointed to go in front at 3-10 to 1-15. Kerry went right up the other end and Gearoid White equalised. Sub Nick Lacey kicked Kerry one ahead in the 63rd minute. A Ben Kelliher two pointer with the last kick of the game meant a 3 point victory for the Kingdom.

Tyrone were the first team in the final after beating Connacht champions Roscommon by 2-12 to 1-08 in Breffni Park.
