Kerry have lost at Donegal in Allianz Football League Division 1.

The tie at Ballyshannon ended 1-22 to 1-18.

Despite being named to start David Clifford was not part of the matchday squad for the Kingdom.

Donegal had the first 2 points but a Sean O'Shea 2 pointer levelled matters by the 5 minute mark. 3 minutes later Tony Brosnan had the Kingdom ahead at 3 points to 2. Donegel equalised in the tenth minute. After Donegal then went in front a Tony Brosnan 2 pointer meant Kerry led 5 points to 4 after 17 minutes. Back to back points had Donegal ahead. However, another Tony Brosnan 2 pointer meant Kerry were in front 7 points to 6 after 22 minutes. A Sean O'Shea 45 doubled the Kingdom advantage in the 27th minute. After Donegal halved the deficit a Daire O'Baoill goal put them in front. 2 further points meant Donegal were ahead at the break by 1-9 to 0-8.

Donegal opened the second period with 2 two pointers, making it 1-13 to 0-8 after 39 minutes. Donegal pointed again, before a Sean O'Shea two pointer cut the gap to 7. Yet again Donegal pointed, and once more a Sean O'Shea two pointer followed for Kerry. With 45 minutes gone it was Donegal 1-15 Kerry 0-12. Donegal remained in charge, a two pointer giving them a 1-18 to 0-13 advantage by the 53 minute mark. Sean O'Shea's 4th two pointer of the day brought Kerry within 6, 1-18 to 0-15 with 55 minutes on the clock. 2 further Kerry points made it a 4 point game. Donegal hit back to go 6 clear; 1-20 to 0-17. The gap was still 6 entering the closing 2 minutes when Kerry sub Donagh O'Sullivan pounced to half the deficit to 1-21 to 1-18. Donegal had the final say to win by 4.

Mayo are two from two under new boss Andy Moran.

They picked up their second Division 1 win in a row with a 1-18 to 2-9 victory at home to Dublin today.

Darragh Beirne's goal helped them on their way at McHale Park.

Roscommon have beaten Monaghan by 3-16 to 1-16 to get their first win of the season.

In Division 2, Cork remain unbeaten after they eased to a 1-17 to 1-12 victory over Louth.

Meath won 2-17 to 1-18 at Cavan.
