Jack Kennedy and Gordon Elliott landed their first winners of the week as the five-year-old Getaway Beo took the opening mares’ maiden hurdle over two miles at Tipperary on Monday. Owned and bred by Mark Grace, the 15/8 favourite led at the second-last hurdle and was pushed out to beat her own stable companion, the Danny Gilligan-ridden 9/4 chance Clarnagh Maid, by six lengths.

A winner over fences at Clonmel four days previously, the Phillip Enright-ridden Romella followed up with a wide-margin victory for trainer Brendan Walsh in the two-mile mares’ handicap hurdle. The Anthony Byrne-owned 11/2 chance came from off the pace and was left in the lead at the second-last hurdle before going clear to win by 10 lengths from the Daryll Deacon-trained 14/1 shot Volez Vous.

 

Jack Kennedy shared back-to-back winners with with Gordon Elliott at Downpatrick on Friday afternoon. The Call It What You Like Syndicate-owned 6/1 shot Someone’s Wish got the better of Dermot McLoughlin’s 9/4 favourite Centaq by two and a half lengths to take the two-mile one-furlong handicap hurdle while 1/9 favourite Pour Les Filles came home nine lengths clear of David Christie’s 8/1 chance Bold Rhyme to win the two and three-quarter-mile maiden hurdle to complete the doubles.

At Fairyhouse on Saturday, Kennedy and Elliott scored a comfortable win with the six-year-old Relieved Of Duties in the two-mile beginners' chase. A 2/1 favourite in the Robcour colours, he headed Henry de Bromhead’s 4/1 shot Full Of Life after the second-last fence to win by a length and a half.
