Irish 2,000 Guineas meeting to go ahead

This afternoon's Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas meeting at the Curragh will go ahead after passing a morning inspection.

Heavy rain this week had put today's card in doubt, with parts of the track waterlogged yesterday.

The ground on the straight course is soft to heavy and on the round course it's soft, soft to heavy in places.

The Jessica Harrington-trained Lucky Vega is set to go off as favourite for the big race.

Aidan O’Brien’s twin raiders of Van Gogh and Wembley will provide stiff competition.

That’s off at 3.20.
