IRFU to keep legal tackle height below the sternum

The IRFU will keep the legal tackle height below the sternum for the upcoming domestic season.

The rule had been trialled across the club game for the last two seasons, as part of an initiative led by World Rugby.

Data collected across the trial period have shown a decrease in injury rates and head impact rates, the IRFU revealed in a statement.
