Ireland's 4 x 100 swimmers received invitation to Olympic games in error

Swim Ireland confirmed this afternoon that the men's 4 by 100 medley relay team have had their invitation to compete at the Olympic Games next month rescinded.

The World Swimming body FINA say the invitation was issued in error.

Swim Ireland say they will challenge the decision, having only accepted the invitation on Saturday.
