Ireland withdraws from America's Cup bidding process

Ireland has formally withdrawn from the bidding process to host the 2024 edition of sailing's America's Cup,

The decision has been made by the Department of Tourism and Sport following a feasibility study into the bid.

They concluded that Cork would "potentially be a great venue" but the "necessary infrastructural and planning arrangements" wouldn't be in place in time for 2024.
