Ireland pick up narrow win against 10 man Armenia

The Republic of Ireland picked up the first win in their bid to qualify for the 2026 World Cup last night.

Evan Ferguson got the crucial goal at the Aviva Stadium, as the hosts beat Armenia 1-0.

The visitors spent most of the second half with 10 players, after a red card for Tigran Barseghyan

Ireland are now third in their qualifying group, behind Hungary, who earned a last-gasp 2-all draw away to Portugal.
